Counting Mudra

This counting mudra is a great way to stop and regain perspective in stressful situations or when you are on the edge of acting on impulse. It's also a great exercise for those wanting to start a meditation practice.

Simply sit comfortably with your spine straight, let your eyes close and point to the base of the index finger as in the diagram, and take 1 full breath (= 1 inhale + 1 exhale) before moving on to the next. After 12 breaths you will have completed one full round and your mind should be clearer. Stop there or continue for as many rounds as you wish.
